Finding the “me” in “us”

It’s been a while since I wrote for my personal blog. More than being busy with other writing projects and professional assignments, it’s because it was becoming more about me, my views, my opinions, experiences. Almost like a reckless monster that cared less. I wanted to observe other people, meet them, talk to them and know them better so that I could think beyond myself. The “other people” whom I am talking about are the ones dearest to me. Not sure how far I could excel in that attempt, but it has been a truly rewarding experience nevertheless. Now I know I am flawed in more ways than I thought I was. I have changed a lot. I think I am more opinionated than ever before which sometimes offends or hurts others as well.

The time you don’t spend with the ones who need your time the most won’t really come back. So, I think it is much better to offload that baggage of “me” and explore the “me” in “us”. Human minds are much more complex than we think it is. Understanding it in one lifetime is impossible. But understanding how you behave in certain situations, how you respond to someone is a process of self-analysis that could help you become a better person.

A Kiddish Poem

Had some time to ponder

So I simply let it wander

Should Stop this Kiddish Poem right here

Else Someone will bash me I Fear

A Man Minus his Dream

A man minus his dream

Is like free-falling in a black hole’s realm

A sleepless night catching up on sleep

An irky feeling, he never wants to keep

A sighted man who just can’t see

Stranded in strange reality

Like the one who Has to Live at any cost

With a Love that’s lost

Like a lost tune

He once always knew

A search he can’t avoid

Finding nothing but void

He calls out to his Dream

Not a whisper, but a scream

Some Day He Will find

Repose of another kind!

A man minus his dream

Is like free-falling in a black hole’s realm

Adjusting your intelligence

You could be intelligent or sharp witted. You could have all that it takes to put someone down. But what do you get out of all of it? Probably a chunk of good meat to feed your ego, something to make yourself feel superior. Is it worth all that really? Think of it in this way. How about being so intelligent, that you have the power to calibrate your intelligence to match the wavelength of someone’s intelligence, you are having a conversation with?  Take for example a 1 year old child. What would it best understand? Sounds like burrrr eeerrrrr eeeee uuuu.. some funny faces or maybe something outright silly. He or she would enjoy every bit of it. What if you try to explain “theory of relativity” to that child instead? That sweet little one would soon get bored to death and look for something more exciting which he or she understands better. Similarly every human being is different, has gone through something in life, has observed something different, has dealt with different circumstances. Not just humans, the fact holds true for every living being I would say. So what’s the point in boasting about your intelligence if you have practically made no kind of connection with that living being by showcasing your supreme intelligence? Some would argue though, what’s the point in making a connection with any living being at all! All I would tell them is that I think there is a point in there to create a bond with every living being you interact with. You just have to think about it. Words fall short really to explain what that point really is; you have to make that connection to know what the point exactly is. Give it a thought; make a connection; alter your intelligence.
